**Curve Update: A Week of Ups and Downs for Altoona**

The past week has been a mixed bag for the Altoona Curve, with both thrilling victories and tough defeats. Here's a rundown of the highlights from their recent games:

Series Against Bowie Baysox

The Curve started strong against the Bowie Baysox, winning three consecutive games. In the first game, Po-Yu Chen led the charge with a dominant seven-inning outing, helping the Curve secure a 3-1 win. Thomas Harrington followed up with an impressive performance, striking out a career-high 11 batters in a 5-1 victory. The Curve continued their winning streak with a 4-0 shutout win, thanks in part to the rehab efforts of Pirates pitchers David Bednar and Ryan Borucki.

However, the Baysox fought back, taking the next two games. In the first loss, the Curve's pitching staff struck out seven but ultimately fell 2-1. The second defeat saw Brenden Dixon slam the 50th Grand Slam in Altoona's franchise history, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Baysox's strong performance, as the Curve lost 4-1.

Series Against Somerset Patriots

The Curve then traveled to Somerset to face the Patriots. Despite some strong individual performances, they were unable to secure a win in the three-game series. In the first game, Po-Yu Chen turned in his team-leading sixth quality start of the season, but the Curve fell 2-0. Thomas Harrington struck out ten in six innings in the second game, but the Curve lost 2-1. In the final game, Hunter Barco made his team debut, tossing three scoreless innings, but the Curve ultimately lost 3-2.

Recent Games Against Harrisburg and Erie

In their most recent games, the Curve picked up their third straight win over Harrisburg and will look to secure a series victory on Saturday night. Against Erie, Charles McAdoo had a massive day, hitting his fifth Double-A home run as part of a three-hit day and starting the third triple play in Altoona Curve franchise history, but the Curve fell 5-2. On Tuesday night, Nick Cimillo hit his first Double-A home run, but the Curve were unable to overcome a late SeaWolves rally, losing 8-6.

As the season continues, the Curve will look to build on their strengths and overcome their challenges. Stay tuned for more updates from Peoples Natural Gas Field!
