Loss to Hartford Yard Goats

The Harrisburg Senators, the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, have had a mixed bag of results over the past week. On Wednesday, July 24, the Senators faced the Hartford Yard Goats at Dunkin' Park in Hartford. Unfortunately, they fell short, losing 7-1. The Yard Goats jumped to an early lead, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Senators managed to score their lone run in the top of the first but were unable to mount a comeback. Notable performances included Daison Acosta's scoreless outing in the sixth inning, extending his streak of not allowing an earned run to seven innings. Andrew Pinckney drove in the Senators' only run on an RBI groundout, while Jeremy De La Rosa and Daylen Lile each recorded two hits.

Comeback Victory

On Thursday, July 26, the Senators bounced back with a thrilling 5-3 comeback win over the Hartford Yard Goats. The Yard Goats initially took a 3-1 lead, but the Senators scored four unanswered runs between the seventh and eighth innings. The game-winning moment came when C.J. Stubbs hit a two-run double with two outs in the top of the eighth to give the Senators the 5-3 lead. Other standout performances included Cortland Lawson going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, and Marquis Grissom Jr. extending his scoreless streak to eight innings with a scoreless sixth inning.
