LHP Matt Wilkinson anchored a 3-1 victory for the Captains with his first High-A quality start. Wilkinson, MLB Pipeline’s No. 30 Cleveland prospect, pitched six shutout innings, propelling the Captains to a win over the Sky Carp.

4-3 Loss

In the series finale, the Captains fell to the Sky Carp 4-3. Despite having the winning run on first in the bottom of the ninth, Beloit RHP Xavier Meachem struck out Captains DH Angel Genao to secure the win for the Sky Carp.

10-Inning Pitchers’ Duel

The Captains also lost a 10-inning pitchers’ duel to the Sky Carp, 3-2. Beloit LF Dalvy Rosario made a diving catch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, denying the Captains a walk-off hit.

Doubleheader Sweep

Earlier in the week, the Captains swept a doubleheader against the Sky Carp. In the first game, Lake County won 9-7, and in the second game, they secured a victory thanks to a grand slam by Bazzana.
